I found my dream at the end of the rainbow.
As a small child (I believe I was four years old), I always had a big dream of owning my own horse. My mother's best friend, who was like an aunt to me, had horses. Every time we visited, I wanted to ride the one named Frisco. There was also Sunset, but he was too high-spirited for me. My mother had another friend who owned Silver, whom I always got to ride when we visited. I will NEVER forget Silver because that's how I discovered I was allergic to horses. But not even allergies could stop me from dreaming. Anytime there was a chance to be near horses, I was there, and when I could not be around horses, I acted like a horse. (Yes, I am admitting my embarrassing childhood moments.)
I collected Breyer horses, many of them named Frisco, Sunset, and Silver. I have been around horses most of my life, but that wasn't good enough for me. I married and started my family, and when my children grew older, I got them active in 4-H. They began to have the same dream I've been living my whole life. Then, almost overnight, my wonderful husband made it all come true. I do not think he will ever know how much his hard work has meant to me. Whenever I look at the horses, the barn, the fencing, and everything else he has done for me, I see his heart in that work.
The mini's were inspired by my mom's best friend, Vicki. I spent a summer at her home in Colorado when I was eighteen. I fell in love with the little guys she had and even their cute little stalls. It was so great to walk into the barn and see those little heads peeking out of the doors of their stalls. I later realized this was the safest way to get my children started in horses.
It was my oldest son who thought up the name for our place. When I was five, I went on a trip to Florida with my grandparents, and they bought some land in Cape Coral. They later built a wonderful home there and, as a child, I would visit in the summers. Now, my parents live there, and my children visit during spring break. Our memories there inspired my son to come up with the name of our ranch.
Having Fun!
Nothing like having good family fun.
These little guys are so addictive, you just can't help having one.
We are very new to this adventure but are loving every minute of it, or should I say loving every mini. We have even started to show with AMHS.
Please visit all of our pages, at this time we do not offer anything for sale, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact us by email or phone.
If you would like information on AMHS, please contact us. You can't ask for a better family-oriented club than AMHS.
We expect our 2008 foal in June.
The best thing about having a new little foal is watching the reaction of the other animals, not to mention the bonding that the mother has with her foal.
